Fishrift Fair Use Policy

Fishrift is priced to be affordable for individual creators and small teams. To keep it fast and reliable for everyone, we ask all users to stay within reasonable limits. This policy explains what reasonable means and what we do if someone goes over.

Storage counts every file in your media library: images, GIFs, videos and audio used in your overlays and alerts.

  • At 80%: a warning appears in your dashboard and in Sonar.
  • At 95%: you get an email.
  • At 100%: you cannot upload new files. Existing files and overlays keep working.

If a paid plan ends and you use more than the free plan allows, we warn you by email and Sonar during a 14 day grace period before files above the limit are removed. We never delete files without warning you first.

Overlays

Every plan includes 20 overlays. Ranks and roles may add bonus slots.

Bot and automation

The Fishrift bot is made for normal streaming. Fair use means:

  • commands are triggered by real Viewers, not by scripts
  • timers run at least 1 minute apart
  • the bot sends no more than 100 messages per minute in a channel
  • loyalty points reward real Viewers and are not used to fake activity

Faking viewers, followers, chat activity, loyalty points or any other numbers is not allowed and can lead to the account being closed.

Public API and integrations

The public API is free and needs no key. Please:

  • cache responses and do not poll faster than you need (the docs list how long each endpoint is cached)
  • do not use the API to collect personal data about Viewers in bulk, or to build profiles of people
  • only call the private dashboard endpoints through Fishrift itself, the Stream Deck plugin, Streamer.bot or other integrations we document

We may rate limit or block clients that cause problems, and we will try to contact you first if we know who you are.

Bandwidth

Overlays run as browser sources in OBS and similar software. Fair use means:

  • overlays and media are used for streaming, not as a general file host or CDN
  • you do not embed overlay URLs on busy public websites
  • files are reasonably optimised. Very large files that slow Fishrift down for others may be flagged

What we will never do

  • Delete your files or overlays without warning
  • Slow down your overlays without telling you
  • Change your plan's limits in breach of the Grandfathering Guarantee in the Terms of Service

If you go over

  1. We contact you by email and Sonar and explain the concern.
  2. We give you at least 7 days to fix it.
  3. If it continues, we may apply a temporary limit or review the account. You always get a statement of reasons and can challenge it, as described in section 11 of the Terms.

We only act without warning when the use puts Fishrift or other users at immediate risk, for example an attack on the service.
